A HUGE Congratulations to Nadja Weicker, Lee-Anne Lyon-Bartley, and Aimee Arsenault from the safety industry for winning the most votes for international women's day. We are honoured to offer the winners a keepsake of their success which will be delivered today. The response we received from this campaign was astonishing, and we are proud to showcase and connect with so many amazing women from the safety world on International Women's Day.
Happy International Women’s Day (IWD). Today the hard-won achievements of women are being celebrated across the globe! From the political to the economic and the social, women are being recognised, celebrated and supported by all. Globally the day is being marked by arts performances, banquets, conferences, marches and even free self-defence classes. Different counties have different celebrations but all are equal in importance. The official theme for 2022 is #breakthebias. Promoting a world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination.
Although we have come a long way since the beginning - over a century ago! There are still many reasons to mark IWD. Today we rally for the equal treatment and representation of women, and sadly full gender equality for all women in every country has still yet to be realised.
IWD is of great significance to our team here at Safe Search and fully believe supporting, promoting and commemorating the achievements of women is vital. It is especially important in the safety industry where women make up less than half of the profession. There are so many fantastic women whose skills go undervalued and unrecognised and for us to celebrate and promote IWD we want to showcase the inspirational women and show our appreciation for the hard work they do.
